Okay so I’m a bit of a n00b when it comes to the overlocker. I mean, I’ve threaded it twice (which was a feat in itself), worked out how to turn the blade on and off and adjust the stitch length, but as far as changing the tension and whatnot well I haven’t got as far as that.
One thing that was bothering me – I just didn’t know how to finish off. I know you have to keep stitching, and leave a little tail, because you can’t go backwards (at least I think not?), but what do you do with the tail? You chop it odd, then the thing starts to unravel (defeating the purpose of overlocking, right?), or you leave it hanging…
Then I saw this, and it just all felt SO obvious!
Thanks to this awesome blog post by The Sewing Loft, the mystery has been solved. I can sleep now.
